Three words

Tonight one of my best friends from high school texted me.  She said that her boyfriend (who she met online, is 5 years older than her, and lives about 9 hours away) finally said that he loved her.  I feel happy for her, really; I'm so glad that she found a guy who loves her for who she is.  But her text really got me thinking... Once you've said, "I love you," is there a way to turn back?  To me, this sentence, these three words, sounds so permanent.  It sounds final.  It's so sure.  19 and in love?  Maybe.  I'd like to hope so.  I really believe in happy endings and true love, but I can't see my happy ending starting now.  I guess I'll just have to settle with reading my friend's text message with about 10 smiley faces and knowing that maybe, just maybe, she's getting the love she deserves.
